Lately I have been trying out so many new foundations. Some are new releases and some are just old favourites, but all of them are in this blog post for the same reason, I love them! I’m pretty set when it comes to my go-to foundations; a concise collection resulting in a flawless base.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk

If you have watched any of my youtube videos you will know this foundation is my absolute fave. After many years of using this product I have developed a strong trust and can be certain my face will look healthy with a beautiful glow no matter what condition my skin is in . This lightweight yet full coverage foundation is great for photographs and you can be sure it will last all day long. It is a pricey foundation, but I truly believe it is worth every penny.

Nars Sheer Glow

First of all this foundation is neither sheer or particularly glowing despite the name. It has a medium, buildable coverage and looks very natural once applied. The wear is incredible I can sweat through a twelve hour day of back to back ballet rehearsals with no need to re-apply. This is a water based foundation so it doesn’t leave any excess oils on the skin. For events or evenings out I like to mix this with the MAC Strobe Cream in Goldlite for a little extra radiance.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic X Light Wonder Combo

Charlotte's Magic Foundation is perfect for a bad skin day (we all have them once in a while!) it's medium to full coverage certainly ensures even the worst breakouts are safely under wraps. Personally I rarely get many spots and as a result do not really require a full coverage foundation but don't get me wrong I am all for a full glam look. I have found by mixing these two foundations together I get the best of both world's. With the velvet finish of the Magic foundation combined with the ultimate lightweight formula of the Light Wonder it works with my skin to create the best base yet.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation

Down to the nitty gritty, every single pigment is wrapped in amino acids allowing the foundation to blur and diffuse the light when photographed. This foundation is perfect for performances and photoshoots. Not only does it last for a 2 hour performance consisting of a three act ballet, four quick changes and a lot of sweating under hot stage lights.  This foundation comes in 40 shades — yes, four-zero — and there's a good selection of warm, cool, and neutral tones. I actually own two different shades, one for winter and one for summer and in between I mix them together.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50

The It cosmetics CC+ Cream has been my everyday base for quite some time now. Talk about the 'no makeup' makeup look, this is exactly that. With the amount of coverage it offers you'd expect it to be matte but in fact it is quite the opposite. I have both the Illuminating and the Original, at the moment I prefer the Illuminating as the shade match is closer. The only down side to this product is its poor choice of shades. Recently they have released more however it only brings their total up to 7 (as opposed to Makeup Forever's 40!) Despite this it is still one of my favourites; you can apply this with your fingers, a brush or a beauty blender, each will give an equally admirable dewy finish. Honestly, this is my lazy day foundation; when I can't be bothered with makeup or simply do not have time. I'll throw this on, a little mascara and a touch of brow pencil and I'm good to go in less than five minutes!
